The CEO shouldn’t always write their own communications

Working with a good communications advisor doesn’t make a leader less authentic. Done properly, it can make them more so. The role of an excellent executive communications partner is to uncover the leader’s voice rather than replace it.

There is a misconception that for leadership communication to be authentic, leaders have to write every word themselves.

I disagree.

An excellent communications advisor doesn’t replace a leader’s voice. They help uncover it, sharpen it and make sure it connects.

Authenticity isn’t about who comes up with the words. It’s about whether they genuinely sound like you.
